In my experience, finding a job through an online job bank is largely useless. Especially for technical positions. Many companies, because they don’t pay for the damned postings, put up notices for positions that don’t exist. It’s shameful and I don’t much care why they do it (networking, making it look like they’re a growing company, etc.) This is why I will never put my resume up on monster.com and its ilk. Most jobs are obtained by personal networking–I’d be so bold as to say 90% of them are.
